 Make up made from mainland China, became popular in the Filipino bargain  malls in the late 90's. It was a former co- volunteer church worker, who introduced me to the makeup products which are made in China.I trust my co-volunteer's recommendation because she is the type of person who is not easily convinced,unless she tried it herself. Therefore I asked her where she bought the make up she showed me. And then  she was kind enough to give me the directions,where to buy it. When I reached the mall to buy the makeup made in China, I really had a field day! I bought lipsticks and eyeshadows. From that time on until now, whenever I go to bargain malls, specialty shops, beauty supply stores and beauty bazaars, I purchase a makeup product made in China. No matter I've heard negative reports about their products, I wasn't bothered since I found out myself, that their products are good and easy on the budget. The makeup products made in China are also available in different parts of the globe. Like Malaysia,Saudi Arabia and in some parts of Europe.

Makeup Set a Must Have for Beauty Enthusiasts and Makeup Experts

A make up set  is a must have, for beauty enthusiasts and makeup experts. Aside from the attractive packaging, the array of colors are exciting to try. For practical reasons, there are various types to choose from which is very beneficial and fun for makeup aficionados.

Makeup Issues(Makeup Brand Snobs)

The typical mindset of a makeup snob consumer is,

when the brand is expensive, the quality is good. When the makeup brand is inexpensive, it is scary to purchase it, because it might cause skin breakouts, allergic reaction on your skin etcetera etcetera... Let me tell you, the quality of the makeup is not only found in it's brand name. Because even though you bought a high end brand it cannot be concluded that it's good, until you've tried it on your face. According to the Icon in the beauty industry, Mr.Fanny Serrano, there are many unrecognized cosmetic brands that are very good, when applied on the facial skin. I agree with Mr.Fanny Serrano, because as a makeup aficionado, I have tried and tested a variety of makeup brands. From High End brands, High Street Brand and even unrecognized brands which can only be purchased from a local specialty store and beauty supply shop. Surprisingly the quality of the unrecognized brands are equally satisfying for me. Here are the 2 factors that you ought to consider before labeling the quality of the makeup: 1.Do you wear makeup regularly? There are women, who seldom wear makeup,that causes initial skin irritation when makeup is applied on their face. 2.Is your skin highly sensitive? There are women who's skin are highly sensitive, therefore they cannot wear makeup constantly and they have to choose what type of makeup products to purchase. Here are the basic makeup issues to deal with. But it doesn't have to be a reason to stop enjoying the variety makeup brings.

Parabens in Makeup Products

There is a controversy about a particular makeup ingredient, called Parabens.
As a makeup artist, I punched into my computer keyboard, to perform a search about Parabens. I was able to read about it in Wikipedia.

To simply define parabens, It is a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. It is an ingredient found in makeup products. The Benefit of Parabens in cosmetics is that it prolongs the shelf life of the product and it preserves it from contamination. There were news circulating that parabens is harmful due to the alleged findings, that it mimics female estrogen and it causes cancer. But then another news circulated, refuting the said findings. My conclusion to this issue is that before we believe anything, let's dig in further and as a consumer, we have to be wise in buying our makeup, so that we will get our money's worth and we will avoid endangering our health...

Eye shadow shelf life

When we buy an eyeshadow, the first thing we do is check it's expiration date.
We red many articles on eyeshadow shelf life. It always states that, we can only consume it for 18 months after opening it and using it. I do not discount what I red in the articles, but based in my own experience, eyeshadow shelf life can last longer than 18 months.

Here are some tips which can prolong eyeshadow shelf life:

1. After using your eyeshadow, close it properly. Do not leave it open for too long, to avoid bacteria build up.
2. Always use clean applicators. When we use unclean applicators, there is bacteria build up. This is going to shorten eyeshadow shelf life.
3. Store it in a proper place and keep it covered at all times. (some users just leave it open on their dresser after using it.)
4. Avoid lending your eyeshadow to somebody else.
5. When there is an oil build up on the eyeshadow, get a Q tip and scrape the top then your good to go.

Inexpensive Makeup Brands

Wow ! it's nice to be back after being away for 8 months. The last post I've made was about Makeup spending. I wrote some practical tips on how you can get your money's worth on purchasing makeup.

I'd like to follow up my previous post by giving awareness, that there are inexpensive Makeup Brands with excellent quality.

These brands are for the practical makeup savvy just like me.

I am gonna give you a list of my top favorite brands. Please take note that some brands I'm gonna mention are not available in the U.S.

These are my top inexpensive makeup brands. These inexpensive makeup brands and yet high in quality are what I usually purchase. Feel free to share if you have other inexpensive makeup brands to recommend.

The Camouflage Makeup

On my previews blog posts I always emphasized on appreciating ourselves and enhancing our natural beauty. I discouraged trying to look like someone you're not, but it is also understandable that there are imperfections we like to conceal. As a makeup artist I see to it my clients are going to look flawless and they will stand out after I do their makeup. It is my passion to transform regular looking women into lovely and elegant ladies without looking overly done.

It is important to know what imperfections to conceal. The most common are the under eye circles or under eye dark shadows, red blotches and pimples.

The camouflage makeup is very substantial in achieving the natural beauty makeup look. Before applying the eyeshadow,blusher and lipstick the face should appear flawless.

Now the camouflage is not complicated as it seems as long as you know the correct makeup base(foundation and concealer) for your skin tone and skin type.

For women with very fair complexion, the recommended makeup base are: Ivory, Sand, Natural and Light Beige . (please note I am not endorsing any products here. I am sharing what shades are suitable for women with fair complexion.)

For women with an olive or medium complexion, the recommended makeup base are: , Warm Natural, and Beige.shades are suitable for women with olive or medium complexion.)

For women with dark complexion or mulatto, the recommended makeup base are: Mocha, Warm Beige and Almond.( please note I am not endorsing any product brand here. I am sharing what shades are suitable for women with dark complexion.)

I have written what shades suits different skin tones. Let's go to the skin types.

Oily skin. Liquid, Cream, Gel and Cake powder foundation works well. Do take note powder foundation is essential during the summer.

Dry skin. Liquid, Cream and Gel foundation are highly recommended.

Combination skin. The same as with oily skin.

Normal skin. all formulation works well.

We already know what shades and formulation of the makeup bases to be used in creating a flaw less face.

Here are the simple steps to camouflage facial imperfections:

Under eye circles - dab a concealer on the dark circles and blend the concealer on the whole lower lids. Then pat a yellow powder or a very light green sheer powder to completely disguise the dark circles under the eyes. In doing this you make your eyes look sparkling and bright.

Red blotches and pimples - simply pat green concealer or green powder on the area where you have red blotches and pimples then blend well with a foundation.

Important Note: Be sure to dust with loose translucent powder after applying the foundation and concealer. It is for staying power and it makes the makeup blend well on the skin.
